“In the poetry world, you got a lot of people- a lot of different backgrounds that you get to share, and you really open up your horizons. You see different cultures, and a lot of different ways of thinking and it makes you a better person.” - Philipp Schmitz-Justen

Peace Voices is the Peace Center program of youth poets held at The Peace Center. Students share their original work on stage and perform to the community. It offers master classes and professional poetry for students and adults. Within this program, they’re given workshops (each workshop having different themes) on brainstorming exercises, tips to writing, sharing poetry, and develop written and verbal skills. The young students get to talk to professional poets around the country and get some tips they learned throughout the years. Poetry for them, is what gives them hope, gives them ways to express themselves, and get to tell unique personal stories.
