On April 21st Carolina High School inducted twenty-four new members into its National Honors Society chapter. Parents and guests were welcomed into the auditorium by piano music played by Carolina Ramirez, a new inductee. The ceremony began with the chapter's President, Kellen Dorchan, introducing the guest speaker, Steven Hall.

Hall works for the city of Greenville as Vice President of Business Development. He oversees the growth of FGP International’s Executive Search, Professional Staffing and Human Resource practices. He is also a leader in the firm’s Outplacement Services Group covering career transition and coaching services. His speech revolved around what he referred to as “The Dash,” which he explained was the line on a tombstone in between the date of birth and the date of death. He also read a poem titled The Dash by Linda Ellis and used it as a resource for the students to encourage them to live a life of service.

NHS President Dorchen then went on to introduce Secretary, Salma Genis, and Treasurer, Kaitlin Abercrombie, to state and describe the four pillars of the National Honors Society: Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Character.

After inducting the new members, the night ended with a small reception in the library filled with sweet treats. Congratulations to all of the inductees!
