Way before Carolina High School was named Carolina, it was originally considered Welcome High School and served the welcome community. Welcome High School was in the area of where Welcome Elementary is today.

Around the year 1952, the school came to an agreement that the building was too small and needed a new one. Greenville schools approved of the creation of a new building for the school and named it Carolina. The new location of the school was created where the baseball field is today.

Around the Year of 2000-2003, they decided it was time for a new school since the buildings were old and worn out. The cost of the project was 3-4 million dollars, once it was ready, the teachers moved in during the weekend to get settled in the new classrooms. On a monday of March 2006, is when the students experienced the new school for the first time.
