Students at Carolina High School were not born when Rosa Parks said “No” to driver James Blake when he demanded that she change her seat on “his” bus in Montgomery, Alabama, 1955. But on February 5th, they met her when Greenville Chautauqua brought “Rosa Parks” to CHS to speak them.
Students were able to hear her story and even interact with her by asking questions that they prepared prior to her visit. She not only entertained, but she informed students and faculty of the history surrounding her experience.
We would like to thank Mr. Emerson for bringing her to us and thank Greenville Chautauqua for the wonderful history lesson!
